There are over 30 4-H clubs throughout Clinton County. You can join a club near your home or a club that provides projects you’re interested in learning more about. You can review the list within this packet to locate a club. Then call an adult volunteer to attend the next 4-H club meeting. The volunteer will help you get signed up, inform you of important dates and events and help you with 4-H projects. Each club has a different meeting schedule. Make contact with a 4-H club volunteer by early March to meet enrollment requirements.
If you can’t figure out what club is right for you call the Ohio State University Extension office at 937-382-0901. The 4-H program is facilitated and managed by the Ohio State University Extension office and the leader of the county 4-H program is called a 4-H youth development educator. The educator or office staff can answer many of your questions and try to help you select a club in your area that offers projects you’re interested in learning more about. A listing of all clubs in the county is posted below for you to find the perfect club to meet your family’s needs. Clinton County has a variety of clubs. Some clubs specialize in cooking and sewing, horses or dogs while other clubs are general. A general 4-H club carries a wide variety of projects.
Clubs are very similar to Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts. The club works together on community service projects, fundraisers, and 4-H projects and holds regular meetings throughout the year. Just as you would work on awards or badges in Scouts you work on projects in 4-H. You may select to compete in project judging at the Clinton County Fair or Ohio State Fair.
Each club has an adult volunteer called an organizational advisor. The organizational advisor coordinates the club and meetings, assists members and gives leadership to other adult leaders in the club as well as members and parents. Members are required to attend a minimum of 6 club meetings each year.
