Join the Master Gardeners in celebrating Fayette County by participating in our eighth annual Sponsor A Pot Program.The Fayette County Master Gardener Volunteers design and plant beautiful flower pots and place them in downtown Washington Court House to make our community more welcoming and bright to residents and guests. If you are proud of our downtown like we are, consider sponsoring one of these pots. A plaque will be specially engraved to recognize your family, club, organization, cause or church and then placed prominently in your special pot. Just think you don’t have to weed, water, or even get your hands dirty to get credit for these flowers.

Since the beginning of agriculture, farmers have developed methods for managing weeds, insect pests and diseases. Due to the significant impact from pests and diseases, on both human and animal health, it is important for those interested in plants to develop a firm understanding of weed science, entomology (study of insects) and plant pathology (study of plant disease), and how to minimize losses caused by these important plant pests. This video will highlight plant diseases and give resources for more information on plant pathology. Also visit the Chlorofilms web site for more videos on plants: www.chlorofilms.org.
