The Home Vegetable Garden - Getting Started

— filed under:

If you're a new, or relatively inexperienced gardener, read this!

If you are one of the growing number of Fairfield Countians who are planning to plant a garden in 2012, getting off on the right foot is of the utmost importance for having a successful and satisfying experience. To aid in your quest to grow your own vegetables, Rory Lewandowski, Athens County Agriculture Educator, has recorded a 106 minute presentation entitled, The Home Vegetable Garden: Getting Started and Keeping it Going.

If you have access to a high speed internet connection, this is a "must see" for the beginning and relatively inexperienced gardener. Simply grab your notepad and pen, click on the highlighted linked presentation title above, and sit back and enjoy.

Also, if you are looking for publications which offer additional information on the management and care of your garden, be sure and check out our internet publication library under the Yard & Garden link on Ohioline. In particular, be sure to see the Ohio Vegetable Production Guide in the bulletin section.

If you have further questions, please contact our office of Ohio State University Extension.
