The Clinton County Extension Office and the Clinton County Master Gardener organization will be hosting an open house for gardening enthusiasts interested in knowing and learning more about the Master Gardener program.

The open house will be held Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Clinton County Extension Community room located at 111 S. Nelson Ave. in Wilmington from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.  Gardening enthusiasts will get information regarding the Master Gardener program both at the state level and the local level, have the opportunity to visit with current certified Master Gardeners and take advantage of a question and answer session.  You are also welcome to stay for the monthly Master Gardener meeting which will follow the open house activities.

 

The Master Gardener Program began in Ohio nearly 20 years ago and is now active in more than 50 counties. The program is also conducted in nearly every state in the United States as well as in Canada. 

 

The Master Gardener Program is a practical and intensive training program designed to educate participants in the following horticultural topics:  Soils & Fertilization, Botany, Herbaceous & Woody Ornamentals, Weeds, Plant     Pathology, Entomology, Plant Propagation, Integrated Pest Management, Backyard Fruit   & Vegetable Production, Houseplants, Lawn Maintenance, Tree Identification, Emerald Ash Borer, Plant Diagnostics, Rain Gardens, AND MUCH MORE!!!!!
