About the Master Gardener Volunteer Program
- The Master Gardener Program provides training in a broad range of horticultural topics to interested gardeners who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local Ohio State University Extension county office. The training involves around 50 hours of classroom and outdoor instruction, after which, the trainee must volunteer 50 hours of horticultural service to the community to become a certified Master Gardener. Contact the Athens County Extension office by phone at 593-8555 or by email at: athe@ag.osu.edu for more information.
